Pantone announced the 2019 color of the year at the end of last year, and the internet went CRAZY! Living Coral and it’s bold and vibrant, warm tone is exactly what we needed this wedding season. Pantone describes living coral as “Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression.” Living Coral is the perfect color for spring and summer weddings. You will find dozens of ways to utilize it at your wedding, from the decor to floral and bridesmaid dresses. But today, we want to give you 4 unique ways to use Living Coral in your wedding.
Our first unique way to use living coral is in your beauty plan. A coral lip will add a pretty bold touch to your bridal look and will be a nice way to incorporate the color of the year. Popular makeup brands also have a variety of eyeshadow tones that would pair beautifully with the coral palette. Add a little shimmer with Makeup Forever’s signature peach or matte coral eyeshadow. You can go all the way with this option, by using a coral lipstick, eyeshadow, and nail color. Or you can use one of the options listed. Either way, adding touches of living coral to your makeup plan will be a unique way to use the color of the year.
If coral bridesmaid dresses are too ordinary for your taste, why not incorporate it into your gown instead? Watercolor gowns are a fun and flirty way to add color to your dress, without having to stray too far away from the traditional white. If you want a bold and original way to add living coral, your bridal gown is definitely the way to go!
Food is where you can really get creative; using foods with coral tones will add a subtle hint of living coral. Think salmon sushi rolls, ahi tuna appetizers or a grapefruit cocktail. You’ll have to hire a creative caterer to pull this one off. But, tying in your food will make for a great unique touch.
Orange and pink shades are pretty common in the gemstone world. So, adding touches of coral into your jewelry may be an easy alternative to common stones. You can source coral stoned earrings, a simple gold and coral bracelet, or even a nice coral stoned necklace for a statement piece. The possibilities are endless with this unique idea. Because gemstones come in all different shades of coral and a variety of shapes to choose from you’ll have plenty of options.
