Mary and Bill wed on a beautiful Summer date at the iconic St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Capitol Hill and had a traditional reception at The Army and Navy Club in Washington, DC. The couple chose to take portraits afterwards on Capitol Hill and boy were they stunning!
Mary and Bill’s love story is as sentimental and sweet as they are. They met after a St. Patrick’s Day parade in Old Town Alexandria. A friend of Mary’s, had invited her to go along, and made plans with another group of friends to meet for lunch afterwards. Bill was in the group of friends who they met but he was not living in DC at the time. He and Mary hit it off and started slowly getting to know each other over the months. When Bill moved back to DC that Summer, he and Mary began dating officially.
Bill proposed in a beautiful garden beside at the National Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. This surprise proposal was very meaningful as the couple’s Catholic faith is the fundamental cornerstone of their relationship. He and Mary had gone on a date for that day, and Mary had no idea that that day would be the happiest day of her life. Bill managed to bring Mary unsuspecting to the Basilica after a wonderful day of lunch and walking in Georgetown. Bill surprised Mary even further, because when she went inside the basilica after the proposal, he had planted her family, his family, and friends inside awaiting to celebrate! Awwwww!!
